An insurance management tool that changes how agents and brokers interact with their clients and carriers. I led the React front end for a critical client.

01The problem

Agents and brokers sit between clients and carriers, and the interaction surface is where that relationship either works or generates phone calls. The client treated this build as critical.

02The approach

A React and TypeScript front end using Ant Design, with Redux Toolkit for state, against a .NET back end over PostgreSQL on AWS EC2. My job was front-end lead: managing seven front-end developers building the interface, which at that size is as much about consistent conventions as it is about code.

03The outcome

Front end delivered for a critical client with a team of seven front-end developers under my direction.

04Decisions worth noting

  1. 01

Led seven front-end developers on a single interface — convention and review discipline mattered more than any individual component.

  2. 02

Redux Toolkit for predictable state across a CRM with many interdependent views.

  3. 03

Ant Design as the component base, so the team spent its time on domain logic rather than primitives.
